movies watched in the past two days:
napoleon dynamite. interesting; the first half kinda dragged by, but the second half was hilarious. and he's such a good dancer! the audio commentary was friggin' funny too, and i only watch them if the actors are talking (like LOTR and kevin smith movies) because they have a much funnier outlook than the damn writer/producer/director -- and what do i care about them?
king arthur. i don't generally like the "epic film," but it was pretty good. i guess. i saw through it without hurling fake blood, so i guess that's good.
the stepford wives. i had no preconceptions about this film, and i really have no postconceptions either. it was pretty decent, though predictable.
books read in the past two days:
the secret life of bees. amazing. fabulous. here -- let me consult the dictionary for more synonyms: aces, amazing, astonishing, astounding, bang-up, best, breathtaking, cool, crack, dilly, doozie, extravagant, fab, fantastic, fictitious, first class, gone, greatest, groovy, immense, in spades, inconceivable, incredible, legendary, marvelous, mind-blowing, out-of-this-world, outrageous, peachy, phenomenal, primo, prodigious, rad, remarkable, spectacular, striking, stupendous, super, superb, terrific, top drawer, tops, turn-on, unbelievable, unreal, wicked, wondrous.
so there.
now on to hoot by carl hiaasen, which is about florida, and looks to be pretty good because florida is, as he says, "an armpit compared to montana."
or so i've been told.

Napolean Dynamite rocked-- my friend Cynthia and I walked around for WEEKS quoting the damn thing. I love "geek chic" flicks.
I heard the new Stepford Wives was awful, but I rather liked the original one-- very amusing and highly creepy at the same time...
cheers!
